Derek loved to fish, golf and ski. He loved the beach and being the detailer he was, he loved to clean. Derek was a happy, giving person. He was always available to lend a hand whether it was mowing lawns or shoveling snow Derek's neighbors could count on Derek to help with any "heavy lifting".
People who knew him best knew that Derek was almost always behind schedule. They also know that On My Way was the expression he texted most often... though he seldom was.
Derek's greatest passion was attending Steelers games with his Big Sister although he missed more than one due to tardiness.
