Dorothy Faulconer Burton

Dorothy Faulconer Burton passed away on October 17, 2016, at her son’s residence in Fairfax Station, VA. She was 93. Born in Logan, WVA, Dorothy was married for 42 years to James R. Burton until his death in 1986.

A longtime resident of Arlington, VA, Dorothy was an active member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs, serving in many capacities, including president of the Northern District of the Virginia Federation and president of the Woman’s Club of Arlington. She was also a registered parliamentarian and member of the National Association of Parliamentarians, serving as president at both the Virginia state and local levels.

Survivors include her son, Robert, daughter-in-law, Jane, and four grandchildren, Elizabeth, James, John and Daniel.

The family will receive friends at the Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Road, Springfield, VA, between 5 and 8 p.m. on Friday, October 21. A Requiem Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, at St. Athanasius Catholic Church, 9201 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Dorothy’s name to St. Anthony Academy, 10201 Main St, Ste 125, Fairfax, VA 22030.
