

Born in the Philippines, Dory lived a long, love-filled life centered around her family. She was married for 65 years to her beloved late husband, Feliciano “Fely” Payabyab, with whom she built a strong and enduring legacy.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Juanito Vidanes, Socorro Vidanes, and Carlos Vidanes. She is survived by her sister Victoria McMahon and her sister-in-law Rebecca Vidanes.
Dory leaves behind her six children: Ferdie Payabyab and his former wife Marie Baldido; Chona Obordo and her late husband Gil Obordo; Roland Payabyab and his wife Melanie Prendergast; Carla Payabyab and her husband Elli Fernandez; Jessie Payabyab and his wife Ella Maragay-Payabyab; and Cecilia Snead and her husband Roger Snead.
She was a devoted grandmother to seven grandchildren: Jackie Ky and her husband Timmy Ky; Jazmine Ashtiany and her husband Alex Ashtiany; Gaby Payabyab and her significant other Ryan Maher; Jared Payabyab and his wife Mary Payabyab; Jillian Obordo; Emily Payabyab and her husband Abdullah Jamali; Alex Payabyab; and Jayden Payabyab. Among her many blessings, it was her grandchildren who brought her the greatest fulfillment, filling her days with love, pride, and purpose.
She was also blessed with four great grandchildren: Jordan Ky, Luna Ky, Logan Ky, and Aurielle Ashtiany.
Dory held a deep affection for her nieces and nephews—Cheryl Flynn, Joe Vidanes, Michael Vidanes, and Shawn McMahon—whom she embraced with the same love, care, and guidance she gave her own children. She created countless joyful memories with them that will be cherished forever.
She will be remembered as the nurturing heart of her family, a woman who instilled the values of togetherness, love, and loyalty in every generation. Dory was the steady glue that held her family close, offering warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support throughout her life.
Her faith was the foundation of her character. It shaped her daily actions, her compassion, and the love she extended to everyone she encountered. Her faith was the foundation of her life. She lived her faith openly and proudly, letting her kindness, generosity, and love for others reflect the strength of her devotion.
Dory is also remembered with deep appreciation by her caretakers, Pia Agaloos and Angie Reyes, whose dedication, compassion, and companionship brought comfort and dignity to her later years.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 11, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, Virginia. A church service will follow on Monday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m., with interment immediately afterward at Mount Comfort Cemetery.
Her legacy of love, unity, and faith will continue to live on in the family she cherished so deeply.
