

Betsy was born Elizabeth Ann Clark to Virgil and Edith Clark on April 12, 1925 in Tampa, Florida.
She has two siblings; Thomas who preceded her in death in 2012; and Eleanor who resides in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Betsy married William Miller on October 25, 1945 in Orlando, Florida. They moved to Virginia when he was discharged from the Navy. Betsy was a loving and caring mother and raised her family in Alexandria, Virginia. She was an avid tennis player until an injury forced her to stop playing in her sixties. For exercise she turned to walking which became a passion and she continued to have daily walks for as long as she was able. She was faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Alexandria (FBCA) and was very involved in many church activities. One of her favorites was greeting families attending weekly Wednesday night church dinners. She was active in community service volunteering to help other in activities such as Meals on Wheels. Betsy was also active in the Virginia Camellia Society and helped organize many receptions and parties for the Society. She was very talented and enjoyed may crafts such as sewing, crochet, and needlepoint. She took up cake decorating and soon found herself in demand to make cakes for family, friends and neighbors. Her other interests include family, gardening, and playing bridge. She moved to Greenspring Village Retirement Community in April of 2018. There she found many other dear friends from FBCA and met them each evening for dinner. She was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother.
Betsy is predeceased by her husband William and is survived by her two sons Clark and Mark, daughter-in-law Sharon, three grandsons Ronnie, Tyler, Alexander and great grandson Caden. Her smile and love will be missed by all who know her.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 on April 29 in the chapel of The First Baptist Church of Alexandria, 2932 King Street, Alexandria VA 22302 followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in her name to Macular Degeneration Research.
