James Holloway Sr.

James Leon Holloway, Sr. was born on October 23, 1938 to Robert M. Sheffey and Karleen Shannon in Elkhorn, WV. He was raised by his parents: Charles and Mrytle Holloway of Powhatan, WV.

James was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served in the United States Air Force for 27 years. He received numerous of medals and honors throughout his military service. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked as Receiving Manager at Marlo Furniture and officially retired in 2006.

James preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Cecilia H. Holloway, his older brother, Leroy Holloway and his parents Myrtle and Charles Holloway.

James is survived by James L. Holloway, Jr., Patricia L. Holloway of Springfield, VA, Tanya M. Cottingham and son in law John R. Cottingham of Lake Ridge, VA, Joseph M. Holloway of Burke, VA, and his 3 grandchildren.

Visitation service will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, VA from 4 - 8pm. Funeral service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home Chapel in Springfield, VA at 11am on Thursday, May 19, 2016. Burial will immediately follow the chapel service at 1pm at Quantico National Cemetery in Triangle, VA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Capital Caring (Hospice), the American Cancer Society in his name.
