Of Annandale, VA passed away on Monday, May 24, 2010. He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mary Jacqueline Scherff. James is survived by his daughter, M. Provie Rydstrom and her husband Ron; his sisters, Flo Evers, Laura Waters, and Mae Scherff; grandchildren, Rhonda (Jason) and James; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Olivia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2010 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA 22151. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 7, 2010, 10:30 a.m., at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 8800 Braddock Rd., Annandale, VA 22003. Burial with Military Honors will be on Thursday, July 15, 2010, 11 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.
