We know not why, the cause or reason.
Yet Jesus calls, both young and old,
To his fair city, and treasures untold.
Heavy hearts are silent, weeping and still.
An empty place on earth, no other can fill.
We search for a solution, and find how long ago,
A carpenter came from Heaven, to visit earth below.
He called for men to help, to build on Solid Rock.
And keys he gave to everyone, His kingdom to unlock.
He called the little children, as He labored day by day.
And built Earths Greatest Kingdom, unique in every way.
One day this Master Carpenter, returned to Heaven above.
To build those homes in Heaven, God’s promise of His love.
Now many mansions he has built, and paved the streets with
gold.
And year by year His work goes on. Heaven’s beauty to unfold.
Somewhere in God’s city, along that golden street.
Another room was finished, another house complete
Then this loving Carpenter, waved His nail scarred hand,
Calling someone that He loved to live in His fair land.
So when we say “farewell”, to those we dearly love,
It must be Jesus calling, to work with Him above.
Together they are building, just for you and me.
And sharing everyday His joy, in Heaven’s eternity.
One day we’ll say “so long”, to friends kind and true.
And meet that loving Carpenter, somewhere beyond the blue.
We’ll say “hello” to everyone, and joys shall never cease,
And live forever in this land, built by the Prince of Peace.
