CDR USN (Ret.) (Age 85)
Long time Annandale resident and former Georgetown University senior administrator, passed away on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Virginia Hospital Center. Born in Bruce, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Carl Miller and Mary Miller. John was predeceased by his first wife of 54 years, Priscilla E. Miller. John is survived by his current wife, Anne Pederson; children, John Carl Miller, Jr. , Alyson E. Miller, Linda E. Petrie, Carol Miller Alston, and Dorothy E. Owen; grandchildren, Devon Alston, Peyton Alston, Timothy Petrie, and Carys Owen; stepchildren, Robert Koenig and Russell Koenig; and six step grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, March 18, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Demaine Funeral Home, 5308 Backlick Rd, Springfield VA 22151 Funeral service will be Friday, March 19, 11 a.m., Annandale United Methodist Church, 6935 Columbia Pike, Annandale VA 22003. Burial with Full Military Honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at 9:00 am.
