Kathleen Elaine Ryan

On January 26, 2015 the world lost one of its brightest stars but heaven gained an amazing angel when Kathleen E. Ryan passed away. Kathleen was the beloved wife of Timothy and mother of Timothy Jr., Michael, Sean and Megan. Kathleen is also survived by daughters-in-law Tracey, Carlyn and Neele and son-in-law Jose Tsuyi; grandchildren Timothy III, Hunter, Logan, Cyrus, Roman, Cullen, Aram, Ethan, Gavin, and Ella; siblings Irene Skomra, Michael Szabo, Magdalene Ryan, Veronica Doyle, and William Szabo; numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Beyond family, Kathleen touched the lives of so many and was considered a mom by most, and a best friend to all.

Kathleen was born and raised in Monarch, PA and has been a resident of Alexandria, VA for the past 49 years, however, she and Tim have also traveled the world. From safari's in Africa to climbing Machu Picchu, they have had wonderful adventures.

Kathleen's professional career included positions at U.S. Department of Agriculture, Fairfax County School System, and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. She was highly respected in every job she held and has remained a close friend to many former coworkers.

Kathleen was a member of Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church.

Viewing hours will be on Friday, January 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, VA. Funeral service will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 31 at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church with interment to follow at Fairfax Memorial Park.
