Kenneth M. Hamilton

Of Springfield, VA on June 2, at the age of 87. Beloved husband of 57 years to Margaret W. Hamilton; caring father of Stephen Hamilton of Burke, Susan Hamilton of Annandale, and John Hamilton of Springfield; loving grandfather of Tyler Hamilton of Springfield; dear brother of David Hamilton, Alfred Muller, M.D., Daisy Stuempfig, and Charles Hamilton; and also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth graduated from Belmont Hill School in Belmont, MA, Williams College in Williamstown, MA, and Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and retired as a Captain. Following his military service, he worked as a civilian for the Board for Correction of Naval Records. Kenneth was an avid birdwatcher, a big hockey and football fan, as well as a history and geography buff.

Friends welcome on Thursday, June 9 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Demaine Funeral Home, Springfield, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, June 10 at 12 noon at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Annandale, VA. Interment with Full Military Honors will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
