

Kenneth Alvin Tinsley , 93 of Springfield Virginia passed away on January 4th. Ken was born in Horton Kansas to Claude Tinsley and Alice Pearson on May 15th 1932. He was married to Marylin Tinsley on June 22th , 1952 in Rockford Illinois. They enjoyed 73 years of happiness during their marriage. He graduated from Anderson College with an Accounting degree. Ken had many jobs and separate careers. He was a master auto mechanic, worked for the post office, then moved to the IRS, then worked with the Pension Guarantee agency. Then after 35 years working for the federal government he retired and started a craft business, he enjoyed working on different wood crafts, then purchased an ice cream truck that allowed him to connect with people which he thoroughly enjoyed. Then his last job was a care giver for people that needed support and provided a unique service to his clients that made them all feel very special. He worked until a few months before his passing. Ken was a veteran of the Korean war and served in Okinawa Japan.
Ken is survived by his spouse Marilyn Tinsley. Three children, Bruce and Terry Tinsley (son and daughter-in-law), Dean and Angie Tinsley (son and daughter-in-law), Melanie and John Arnold (daughter and son-in-law). Seven grandchildren, Tiffany Riley, Kimberly Henry, Nicole Zdan, Benjamin Tinsley, John Arnold Jr, Travis Arnold, Christopher Arnold. Seven great-grandchildren, Bryce Henry, Hayley Henry, Penelope Riley, Austin Riley, Aydin Zdan, Dominic Zdan, Khara Zdan
Celebration of Life Service will be held January 17th at 1 pm at Community Church of God Dunn Loring, 2500 Gallows Rd. Dunn Loring Va 22027
In lieu of flowers, donations can be to either the Community Church of God (Community Church of God | Dunn Loring, VA) or the kidney foundation (Support Kidney Patients - American Kidney Fund | American Kidney Fund)
