To many of us who loved her, she was best known as Nanay, Tita, Ate, and her favorite, Lola. Marites was a friend to all and always celebrated their occasions, achievements, and wins both big and small. Her gentle and generous nature made everyone around her feel loved, safe, and secure. She loved adventure, flowers, cooking, and the color purple. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing! Marites was a devout Christian who embodied God’s love beautifully and practiced her faith daily.
Marites was born in Laguna, Philippines, came to America in her late 20s, and settled in Woodbridge, VA. She married Pablito B. Uy in 1999. Together, they created and nurtured four children. Marites leaves behind her Pablito (husband), Victoria (daughter), Elijah (son-in-law), Paul Albert (son), Charlaine (daughter), Paula Marie (daughter), and Reyna (granddaughter).
Although we are broken by her loss, we take comfort knowing she is fully healed in the presence of the Lord and in peace. Her smile, laughter, and kindness will be dearly missed by all who knew her. We will be hosting a celebration of her life on March 1, 2026, please reach out to the family for more information. Join us to mourn her passing but celebrate the time and life we had with her– a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
