Merri Alice Coleman

Merri Alice Coleman aged 65 passed away peacefully on Sunday December 23, 2018 in Fairfax Station, VA. She was born to the late Joseph and Helen Hanna, September 25, 1953, in Newport News, VA. The Hanna family relocated to Springfield VA in 1961.

Merri worked for The Langley School in Mclean, VA for 14 years before retiring in January 2018. Driving a school bus was one of her greatest joys. She also loved being outdoors, feeding her turtles and deer that would visit her while she would sit outside in her yard. Her family was the most important part of her life.

Merri is survived by two children: Wayne Coleman and Jennifer Thomas of, Fairfax Station, VA; four grandchildren Corey (22), Ryan (18), Mackenzie (15) and Chace (7). She is also survived by 2 brothers, Michael and Patrick; 5 sisters, Jeannie, Carol Ann, Donna Mae, Patricia and Joanne. Preceded in death by her brother Howard.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 Saturday, January 12th at Demaine Funeral Home in Springfield, VA. There will also be a gathering after the celebration of life at the home of her son Wayne Coleman; 8907 Magnolia Ridge Fairfax Station, VA 22039.
