Nécrologie de Mildred Maxine Hipsley
To many she was "Sister Hipsley". To her family, she was "Maxine", "Mackie", "Max" and "Gramma". To all of us, she was a gift. Mildred Maxine Hipsley was born on August 15, 1934 in Charlottesville, VA. She passed on to be with our Heavenly Father on July 2, 2019 in Fairfax, VA at the age of 84 after complications from her numerous ailments. She was the youngest of 9 children, all born and raised in Virginia. She is survived by her 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Maxine worked as an Army Civilian for 30 years as a Civilian Personnel Manager. Upon retirement she and her husband, Howard, dedicated their time to raising their grandchildren and serving their community. Maxine was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions including Relief Society President, Young Women's leader, and Primary Teacher. She staunchly believed that faith and family were intertwined and an important part of our daily lives. She loved her siblings, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and worked to ensure they would all be reunited in Heaven one day. We find comfort in the knowledge that she is now eternally reunited with her husband, parents and siblings in Heaven. Maxine loved flowers, and gifts in her memory will be accepted and cherished. But Maxine was better known for her generosity of spirit and compassion for others. Please consider making a donation in Maxine's memory to the following charitable organizations, so her memory will live on in service to those in need.
