Of Springfield, Virginia on Monday August 15, 2011. Mr. Turner worked for 30 years as a research chemist for the Naval Research Lab and was very active with the Chemical Society of Washington. Husband of Anne H. Turner; father of Deborah L. (Andrew) Halpryn and Laura E. (Lee Burnett) Turner. He is also survived by a sister, Mary Magatelli and five grandchildren, Ted, Amelia and Clarissa Halpryn and Zoe and Zachary Burnett. Visitation will be held on Sunday August 21 from 6-8 pm at the DEMAINE FUNERAL HOME, 5308 Backlick Rd., Springfield, VA where services will be held on Monday August 22 at 11:00 am. Interment will take place in Sattley, California. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Project SEED, c/o the Chemical Society of Washington, 1155 16th St. NW, Washington, DC 20036.
