Patrick William Deiss, 38, Corporate Chef at 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, VA, where he worked for 10 years, died at Fairfax Inova Hospital on August 3, of complications from a perforated ulcer, sepsis, and acute renal failure.
Patrick, a 1992 graduate of Annandale High School, received his Associate Degree from The Culinary Institute of America in 1998, and worked as a Sous Chef and Executive Chef at Gerard’s Place, Restaurant Nora, and Asia Nora before joining the 2941 Restaurant group. He was also an Artisan Bread Baker and Restaurant Consultant.
He is survived by his two daughters, Brianna and Maya, of Annandale, VA; his mother and stepfather, Kathleen and Guy Ackerson, of Mount Jackson, VA; his father and stepmother, William and Jill Deiss of Winchester, VA; his brother Jonathan Deiss of Alexandria, VA; his stepbrother Charles Ackerson and his wife Laura, of Preston, MD; and his stepsister Susan Ackerson Dortch and her husband Joseph of Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was formerly married to Rebecca Cappello of Annandale, VA, the mother of his children, and Blanton Brown of Alexandria, Va. He was a beloved nephew, cousin, and he had a host of devoted friends and culinary colleagues.
