Robert W. Andrews. (April 25 1928 – May 25 2015) On Monday, May 25, 2015, Robert Ward Andrews of Alexandria, VA passed away at the age of 87. He was born in Sioux City, IA to Robert Skerry Andrews and Gladys Louise Smith Andrews. After graduating from High School, Bob served 2 years in the U.S. Army then continued on to the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He married the love of his life, Joyce Ruth Deming in February of 1951. Bob served 27 years in the U. S. Air Force where he attained the rank of Lt Col. He and Joyce enjoyed their many Air Force assignments: Michigan, where their son Mike was born, Tripoli, Maine where their daughter Carolyn was born, Japan, Georgia, Alaska and several assignments around the Washington D. C. area. Bob enjoyed traveling the world with Joyce, working in his yard, researching genealogy and spending time with his family. He is survived by his son Mike (Suzanne) and his daughter Carolyn (David), one granddaughter Michelle and three grandsons: Steve (Elise), Don and Jack. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Sue (John), Tom (Ann), Richard, Edward, Harriet (Ken) and Andrew (Kim).
