Robert Villareal Sr. was born June 30th, 1943 in Key West, Florida. At 76, he passed away peacefully on April 4th, 2020 at his home in Annandale, Virginia. He is survived by his adoring wife, Aida Narvaez-Villareal; his children Robert Arnold Villareal Jr, Vernon Villareal, and Kenneth Villareal; and his 7 grandchildren, Victoria, Kyndall, Kayla, Courtney, Jacob, Lillian and Emily.
Robert worked as a mechanic from July 1987 to June 2005 at the City of Alexandria Sanitation Authority Facility. When working at a tuna canning facility in Puerto Rico, Robert would save silver and gold coins that he was given as a form of payment. This inspired his love for collecting coins. Robert was a devoted father and grandfather who loved to play dominos and cards with his friends and family. As a mechanically inclined man, he loved to build and fish. He carried a lifetime of skills which he instilled in his sons. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren as they brought him the most joy. He was an active member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church who lived a life of devotion. The most cherished memory we will miss is when at Christmas time, Robert or “Popi” would dress up as Santa and pass out gifts to all the family members.
A viewing will be held between the hours of 4:00-6:00 pm on Tuesday, April 14th, 2020, at Demaine Funeral Home (5308 Backlick Road, Springfield) Interment will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, April 15th at Pleasant Valley Memorial Park.
