

Sally was born in DuBois, PA to William Algerd Tankalavage and Catherine Elizabeth Durkin on January 17, 1940. She grew up in DuBois and graduated from DuBois High School. She met Ralph Lawrence Tindal in State College, PA where she was working as a librarian at the Penn State University Ordnance Research Laboratory (now Applied Research Laboratory). She married Ralph on June 17, 1961, in DuBois, PA. Sally was a proud Navy wife, homemaker and a resilient supporter of her family, her husband, and his career. She worked in a variety of different retail establishments depending on the family duty station but greatly enjoyed selling greeting cards. Her strong catholic faith and deep compassion propelled her to volunteer in many ways such as Meals on Wheels, children and adult religious education, and delivering the eucharist to those unable to attend mass. Sally was an avid reader, crafter, and loved tending to her plants.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband Ralph Lawrence Tindal, her parents and her brother William Tankalavage.
Sally is survived by her three sons, Ralph Lawrence Tindal III and his wife Beth, William Charles Tindal and his wife Karen, and John Patrick Tindal and his wife Kathleen. She was blessed with seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church at a time yet to be determined.
