Sherri was born in El Paso, Texas in December 1965 to Charles and Mary Ann Berry (Cox). Sherri was a joyful, but shy child who was a friend to all that met her because of her kindness and warm smile. At school she was always at the top of her class because of her quick wit and superior intellect. As a child she loved playing games, spending time with pets and cruising up and down the sidewalk on her roller skates. She was always the peacekeeper in the family and loved making up short plays with her siblings to surprise her parents with. The Berry family moved to Athens Greece, where Sherri discovered her love of travel, learning new things and exploring different cultures.
Sherri graduated Fairfax High school and continued her education at Northern Virginia Community College. Before she graduated from high school, she met her husband Greg, in 1981. They were inseparable from the start. Greg and Sherri knew from that first date that one day they would be married, and 8 years later, at the Robertson’s home in Fairfax Station, they were pronounced man and wife in May 1989.
Sherri was a self-made woman. She started out working as a bookkeeper, moving up the accounting ladder. Later, as a self- taught programmer she landed a position at EMCOR, a career she enjoyed for 25 years. She was well respected for her hard work, dedication, and innovative solutions.
Sherri loved traveling to warm, sunny beaches and long weekends spent at her family's Lake Anna home. She enjoyed needlepoint, jigsaw puzzles and had an artistic talent for drawing and painting. Whenever Sherri had a spare moment, you would find her listening to the latest hit music, occasionally trying to sing along, her hidden passion. She was passionate about her pets, especially her childhood dog named Duffy and in adulthood her beloved Winter. She has spent many hours with her current fun-loving lab named Izzy.
Sherri is survived by her husband, Greg Robertson, parents Charles and Mary Ann Berry, siblings Debra Cox and husband Danny Cox, Charles Berry Jr and wife Tracie Berry, brother's in-law Keith Robertson, Scott Robertson and many loving nieces and nephews and extended family. Sherri was predeceased by brother in-law Chris Robertson.
Services will be held at Haymarket Baptist Church, Haymarket Virginia, March 9, 2024, at 11 am. Sherri would have preferred in lieu of flowers to donate to her favorite charities which include the Disabled Veterans of America, St Jude’s Children's Hospital and Wounded Warrior Project, or to a charity organization close to your heart.
