Don C. Eagle, 80, of St. Louis passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, April 17, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Maude (nee Skeleton) Eagle; a grandson, Eric Peterson; brothers, Delmar and Junior; sisters, Wanda Lee and Louella; and half sisters, Pauline, Ellen, and Erline. Don is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years, Mary (nee Green) Eagle; children, Debbie (Larry) Peterson, Barry (Lisa) Eagle, Liz (Bill) Brinker, and Anthony Eagle; grandchildren, Steven, Melissa, Amanda, Desirae, Sammy, and Amber; and great grandchildren, Whitney, Katelyn, Jaylen, Olivia, and one on the way; and his twin sister, Doris (the late Vernon).
Don was a hard-working man who was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Overland for 30 years and retired from Cupples Manufacturing after 38 ½ years of service. He enjoyed his retirement by fishing, having fun with his friends, watching Cardinal baseball, and barbequing. He had a great sense of humor and was proud of his “Pit Master” capabilities. He didn’t mind teaching all of his “apprentices” the fine art of perfect BBQ!
Friends may visit on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. A celebration of his life will be on Thursday, April 20 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Dignity Celebrant, Liz Zempel, officiating. Interment at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
