Ethel married the love of her life, Clarence Ditto Jr., on August 31, 1942. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared a bond that lasted until Clarence's passing. Ethel is preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence Ditto Jr.; her parents, Mary Benson Hendrix and Troy Hendrix; her sisters, Lola Stillman and Golden Graham; and her brothers, Mervyn Hendrix and Roy Hendrix.
Ethel is survived by her devoted children, Clarence Daniel Ditto and Michael Raymond Ditto (Melissa). She was a proud grandmother to Ryan Ditto, Sarah Ditto, Mark Ditto, and Wendy Lee (Mike). Her legacy continues through her cherished great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Ethel also leaves behind her niece Marie Reary and her nephew Richard Woody.
A woman of many passions, Ethel loved to travel and reveled in the beauty of the world. Among her favorite destinations was Ireland, where she kissed the famed Blarney Stone. Her travels also took her to Branson, Hawaii, Toronto, Alaska, and many other places.
Ethel was a talented gardener, seamstress, and cook. Her home was always filled with the vibrant colors of her garden, the delicious aromas of her kitchen, and the warmth of her hospitality. She took great pride in designing and handcrafting a stunning black dress, a testament to her sewing skills, which inspired her granddaughter Wendy to pursue a career in fashion.
Ethel made friends wherever she went, her kindness and warmth leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her generous spirit, boundless creativity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
A visitation for Ethel will be held Monday, July 8, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, Saint Ann, MO 63074. The Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM, immediately followed by the Committal Service at 1:45 PM at Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ethel's memory may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and Disabled American Veterans.
