Joanne Sharon Black (nee Rooks), 80, of Manchester, MO passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2016 with her loving husband by her side. She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Della (nee Hubbard) Rooks and a special niece, Carole Burt. Joanne is survived by her husband of 34 years, Gary Black; her children, Dale and Don Deardorff; stepchildren, Karen (Mark) Clymer, Pat (Bruce) Perkins, Ken (Sherry) Black, Kathy Mould, and Scott (Lori) Black; grandchildren, David, Dean'a, Garrett, Taylor, Eric, Brian, Kelsey, Kyle, Garrett, Keegen, Graham, and Holden; and her brother, Harold Rooks.
Joanne was a kind and caring lady who was very computer savvy and passionate about animals. She had many pets throughout her life but was especially fond of her dog, Pepper. She was a member of Thi Betta Kappa and spent many years in accounting. Joanne loved spending time with Gary fishing, travelling, and playing the slots at casinos. Her family was very important to her and she will be greatly missed.
Friends may visit on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann from 10 am until time of service at noon. Interment will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to the Open Door Animal Sanctuary.
