Joe W. Hargrove, 77, of St. Louis, born in Olive Hill, TN on April 17, 1938 to Rex and Azalee (nee Gillis) Hargrove, died suddenly on Thursday, November 12, 2015. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Katherine "Punkin" Cagle; and brother-in-law, Dwight Arnold.
Joe is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, LaVerne (nee Ellington) Hargrove; daughters, Pamela (Ronald) West and Patricia Fogal; grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob West and Roxanne and Cody Fogal; his sister, Nell Arnold and her children, Tina and Tracy Arnold; many in-laws, other relatives and friends.
Joe was a dedicated and hard-working man who loved his family. He had a huge heart and was strong-willed. He loved fishing, hunting, and old movies. His quick wit and dry sense of humor will be missed.
Friends may visit from 2-5 p.m. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann, MO with a service at 5 p.m. Memorials are appreciated to the VFW Post 3944 Women's Auxiliary.
