

He was born September 20, 1929, in Edina, Knox County, Missouri, to John Alexander Sr. and Margaret “Maggie” Elizabeth (Thacker) Stutsman.
He served in the United States Navy during Peacetime and the Korean conflict. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a butcher and meat cutter. He retired from the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Meat Inspector on January 3, 1992.
He married Lois Arlene Vance on November 12, 1950, who survives him. Survivors include four children John Vance (Kathy) Stutsman, Marsha Kae Stutsman, Mark Alan (Mary Ann) Stutsman, and Lisa Dawn Callahan. The grandchildren are Brian John (Kimberly) Stutsman, Kaelee Danielle Callahan (John Chiapelas), Angelica V. Stutsman, Mark Allan Stutsman, Michael John Stutsman. Great Grandchildren are Luke Benjamin Stutsman, Veronica Nicole Stutsman, Owen Nicholas Chiapelas, Brilee Marie Chiapelas, Paeton Alivia Chiapelas, and Marlee Kae Chiapelas.
Preceding him in death were his parents and siblings Albert N. Stutsman, Marie Stutsman Sharp, Dorotha Stutsman Bradney, Rebecca Stutsman Mustoe, Mary Stutsman Norton, and a son Larry Brent Stutsman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Alexander-White-Mullen funeral home, Saint Ann, Missouri. Appetizers will be served. Service 7 to 7:30 p.m.
Burial will be at Linville Cemetery, Edina, Missouri at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.
