Our dear mother, Lois Hogan, sadly passed away, with us by her side at 9:53 pm. August 24, 2024, at 88 years old, squeezing our hands in hers. She was welcomed home by Jesus, the Communion of Saints and the Angels into heaven. She is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Hazel Picker, brother, Lawrence Picker, and sister, Lorraine Post.
She was adored and loved by all of us more than we can put into words. She leaves behind a legacy of immense love, compassion and kindness that came so naturally to her. She was such a beautiful mother, who enjoyed travel, especially Galveston, and southern Florida beaches and the lake in Indian Hills. She appreciated nature, loving the winter seasons and drives to the farm or any park while excitedly watching for the leaves to change colors in autumn. She liked her bowling league, interior decorating and over the years she enjoyed oil painting and many of us have them hanging on our walls in our homes. She was always there for us offering love, guidance and support through all our trying times when we needed her most to hold us up and set a great example through her strength. She was there also in many fun, silly times at our family gatherings, too.
She deeply loved her best friend and husband, Charles Hogan, her children, Kimberly (Dennis) Shine and Tammy Hogan (Michael) Wolf, and all her grandchildren Eric (Holly) Mohr, Joshua (Kim) Mohr, Hannah Wolf, Haleigh Wolf, Courtney Shine, Erin (James) Povich, Bradley Shine, Carrie Smith, Emma Smith and her great grandchildren Nathan, Gavin, Zachary, Landon, Gianna, Vincent, Luke and Adelina.
Lois was employed by the state of Missouri for over 40 years.
Lois had a hard life but always kept putting one foot in front of the other. We will miss her so much and know she is living in her eternal home with our Redeemer. May God hold you close to His heart and the Angels watch over you, until we meet again.
