

Mack Ell Wilson departed Earth from his home in St. Ann, Missouri on February 29, 2012 at the age of 56. Mack battled a stage 4 cancer for two years. He was born on April 30, 1955 in Vida, Missouri. His parents were Charles Elmer Wilson and Susie A. Gabel (also known as Mae). He is the tenth child of fourteen children and one of the three deaf brothers. He attended Missouri School for the Deaf and graduated as their salutatorian in 1974. Mack worked at the sawmill near his hometown until he got a job at Pohlman, Inc. in St. Louis, MO and he worked at Pohlman Inc. for 34 years. During his down time, Mack loved outdoor activities such as gardening, hunting and fishing. He also held board positions in several organizations such as Missouri Deaf Bass Anglers, National Bass Association of the Deaf and Missouri Deaf Fly Fishers. Mack’s most favorite role in life was being a grandpa to his four grandchildren to Zara, J3, Zea and Jez.
He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Antonina Wilson of St. Louis; daughter, Fara Harper and her husband John Harper and their children Zara, J3 and Jez, of Illinois; daughter, Sarah Wilson and her fiancé Luke Zurkamer and their child Zea Zurkamer of Illinois; 12 out of his 14 siblings: Bill Marvin Wilson (and Edna), Charles Wilson (and Karen), Margaret Varner (and Jim), Joe Wilson (and Patricia), Don Wilson (and Kathy), Bonnie Dickman (and Danny), Woodrow Wilson (and Rhonda), Mary Wilson, Wanda Patterson (and Jon), Tommy Wilson (and Robin), Judy Boswell (and Mark) and Laura McCloskey (and Bob).
He was preceded in death by:His parents, Charles Elmer Wilson and Susie A. Wilson (Mae); His sister, Virginia Alice Blackmore and her husband, Don.
A memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann, The service will be from 2-5 pm (visitation from 2-4 p.m, . The memorial service will be led by Pastor Randy Dignan starting at 4 p.m.).
There will be a social gathering at 6 pm at the Greater St. Louis Association for the Deaf (GSLAD) Hall at 2190 Creve Coeur Rd., Maryland Heights, MO 63043.
