Mary Susanne "Sue" Markwell

Mary Susanne "Sue" Markwell, 78, of St. Louis County passed peacefully on Thursday February 20, 2025. Sue (Masterson) Markwell was born April 24, 1946. She was the first of three children born to Thomas and Margaret (McGowan) Masterson. Sue was married to her loving husband of 53 years, Charles (Mart) Markwell before his passing in 2017. She is survived by two sons, David Thomas (Jennifer) Markwell and Charles “Guss” (Karin) Markwell: grandchildren Megan, Jordan, Amelia, Eli, and Levi: sister Rose Wolfson: and sister-in-law Delma (Kirkland) Masterson. Her brother, Thomas Paul Masterson, preceded her in passing in 2024. She was a beloved aunt to Amanda, (the late Danny) Wolfson, Scott (Tina) Masterson, Kerry (Jaime) Masterson, Doug Ruch, and Michelle Lynn. She was a dear great aunt, and friend.

Sue grew up in St. Ann and was a graduate of St. Mark High School in St. Louis (class of 1964) and with her husband Mart, they established their own business, Practice Management Services, which assisted the medical profession for over 30 years.

Her true passion was motherhood, and later her time as a loving grandmother and great aunt. She cherished deeply her friends and connections that she made in her life. Sue touched so many people with her compassion, love, and kindness.

In addition to family, Sue enjoyed travel. First on family trips to Colorado and the American West with her children, and then had the time to visit her parent’s birthplace of Scotland and a number of other locations. She and Mart lived a loving and full life together.

Friends may visit on Sunday, March 2 from 1pm. until time of memorial service at 2pm. at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074.
