Patricia J. Lay

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia J. Lay, who departed this life on June 3, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on October 16, 1956, Patricia lived a full and vibrant life rooted in her deep love for animals, the outdoors, and her family.

Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Ethel Homfeld, and her brother, Michael Homfeld. She is lovingly survived by her son, Andrew Luebbers; her cherished grandson, Vincent Luebbers; and her three devoted canine companions—Tilly, Holly, and Ruby—who brought her comfort and joy every day.

A lifelong animal lover, Patricia devoted her career to caring for them as a skilled veterinary technician. Her passion extended far beyond her work—she found pure happiness in the saddle, participating in horse shows, barrel races, and spending time with her horses. She was rarely happier than when she was at a rodeo, enjoying the sport and community she loved.

A proud supporter of the Saint Louis Cardinals, Patricia rarely missed a game and followed her team with the same loyalty she gave to the people and animals in her life. Her quiet moments were often spent surrounded by her dogs, where she found peace and contentment.

Patricia’s strength, compassion, and unwavering spirit will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy lives on in the memories she created, the animals she cared for, and the family she loved so deeply.

A Visitation for Patricia will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Alexander-White-Mullen Funeral Home, 11101 Saint Charles Rock Road, St. Ann, MO 63074, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. The Committal will immediately follow.

Memorial Contributions may be made in Patricia's name to the Humane Society of Missouri.
