

Growing up in St. Louis as the older of 2, he was close with his sister Rosemary. Family was very important to him and he surrounded himself with them.
Bill went to St Phillip Nerri grade school, and graduated from St Louis University High School, joining the US Navy after graduation, he was in World War II & Korea (Mary being born, got him out of this war). In 1945 Bill met the love of his life, Frances Sue Countess, and they were married on January 17, 1946. God blessed them with a child on November 4, 1946, a daughter Patricia, then on August 10, 1948 son Richard was born, on July 3, 1950 daughter Mary was born, on July 12, 1952 son William, on February 17, 1955 daughter Michelle, on May 24, 1957 son Timothy, on February 16, 1959 son Michael, and then on October 13, 1960 son John.
After being discharged from the US Navy, Bill worked for ADT and the US Post Office (letter carrier, and engineer), he retired from the Post Office in 1979. He belonged to VFW post 3500 and was a member of NALC branch 43.
Family being so important to him, he welcomed his 13 grandchildren – Christi, Eddie, Lee, Channa, Laura, Robert, Linda, Eric, Tiffany, Shawn, Shannon, Ricky & Donna. 31 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
His was preceded in death by both his parents William & Marie Hamblin, his wife Frances Sue, sons Timothy, Richard, daughter Mary and granddaughter Tiffany.
Bill (Dad, Pop, Grandpa, Uncle, Father-in-law) no matter what you called him, he was the only one of his kind.
