William A. “Bill” Kidd, of High Ridge, passed away surrounded by his loving family on May 27, 2012. He is survived by his wife Evelyn Kidd, nee Praul. They were married December 14, 1944, and enjoyed sixty-seven and a half wonderful years together.
Bill was born February 16, 1923, in St. Louis, Mo., a son of Charles Arthur and Helen Kidd, nee Maxwell. He served in the U.S. Airforce in World War II and was part of Allied Forces Occupation of Japan following the war. Bill returned to St. Louis where he earned a degree in accounting from Washington University. He worked 41 years at AT&T in St. Louis. Retiring in 1984, Bill and Evelyn moved to Florida to dance on the water – quite literally – embarking on 50 boat cruises during their retirement years. Their most recent was a cruise last fall up the east coast.
Bill is also survived by children Mike (Faye) Kidd, Gene (Pat) Kidd and Tim (Jaqueline) Kidd; grandchildren Ryan (Jennifer) Kidd, Kelly (Josh) Corr, Kevin (Jennifer) Kidd, Sara (Brooks) Varnell, Laura Kidd, Katelyn Kidd, Christopher Kidd, Jesse Kidd, Mark Kidd and Paige Kidd; and great grandchildren Emily, Alex, Ben, Malorie, J.T., Jacob, Kasey, Brooklynn, Kyley and Luke.
At his request Bill was cremated and his remains will be interred in a later date at Mt. Lebanon Mausoleum in St. Ann. A memorial service will also be held at a later date at St. Anthony of Paudua Catholic Church in High Ridge, Mo. In lieu of flowers the family asked that donations be made to the church for masses.
