

Alyne Batory (nee: Rayborn), age 84, a resident of Roseville, Michigan for 62 years, passed way Sunday, September 18, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Batory was born on December 2, 1931 in Covington County, Mississippi to Hubert R. and Ella Mae (Lott) Rayborn. She met Joseph Batory and they were married on August 25, 1954 enjoying 62 years of marriage together.
Alyne was a riveter at Jet Aircraft in Sterling Heights, Michigan, followed by waitressing at Bel Cido and Bel Casino both in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. She also worked at Encore in Roseville, Michigan. She left waitressing to raise her children. She enjoyed baking wedding cakes. Alyne also enjoyed painting, baking for her family, canning and crocheting for her 23 great-grandchildren. In addition, each of 62 years she planted a garden in her backyard for everyone to enjoy. Alyne was happiest sharing family time in St. Helen, Michigan at their cottage as well as traveling with her husband Joe and family in their motorhome. In later years, she loved going on trips to the casino with her husband and friends.
Mrs. Batory is survived by her husband Joseph; children, Karen (Hugh) Grady, Stephen (Ann) Batory, Joseph (Mary) Batory and Deanna (Chris) Peterson; ten grandchildren: Melissa (Alan) Lubnow, Kathryn Coleman, Stephanie (John) Meatte, Michelle (Troy) Davis, Kerrie (Dan) Brining, Brianne (Jordan Amine) Schweiger, Joseph (Holly) Batory, Jr., Taylor Batory, Chris (Lisa) Peterson and Dana (Chad) Rutzel; siblings, Kermit (Gerolene) Rayborn and Barbara (Sam) Courtney; and Twenty-three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Alyne was pre-deceased by siblings Wanda, Herman, Jimmie, Edith, Estus, Donald, Jack; and a daughter in law Kathleen Kelly Batory.
Visitation is from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m. (with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.) on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Kaul Funeral Home 28433 Jefferson, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081. Visitation continues on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service, 11:00 a.m. Rev. Philip Fitzgerald presiding. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township following an honor service led by the VFW Bruce Post # 1146 Ladies Auxiliary of which Alyne was a Life Member.
