Brandon Thomas Steenland

Brandon Thomas Steenland, age 11, gained his angel wings June 5, 2016 surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Brandon was born December 15, 2004, to his loving parents Lindsay Wallace, and Joseph Steenland IV, both of St. Clair Shores.

Brandon had a smile that would light up a room, a contagious laugh that would melt anyone’s heart. He attended Rodgers and Avalon Elementary schools in St. Clair Shores, and has many friends and staff that will miss him dearly. Brandon enjoyed watching movies, playing video games, eating Reese’s peanut butter cups, and being with his friends and family. He adored all animals, especially his cats and dogs. In his short life he had touched the lives of so many, showing us that life is to be celebrated every day.

Brandon is survived by his mother and best friend Lindsay Wallace (Shaun) and Joe Steenland (Meghan), sister Melissa, brother Joseph, Aunts Katie Wallace, Stacy Rousseau(Doug), Uncle Vince Giambrone, Aunt Jillian Rogers, Aunt Courtney Munn, cousins Dante, Adalyn, Mason Christie, Hannah and Ethan Pyles. He is also survived by his beloved grandparents Cyndi and Dan Spear, Joseph and Tammy Steenland III, along with many friends and family.

Brandon is predeceased by his dear aunt Melissa, and his grandpa Steven Wallace. Brandon was a member of the Lake Shore Presbyterian Church in St. Clair Shores, baptized in 2015, and a beloved part of the church family. Brandon was the light of our life, and will be missed dearly. The spirit of Brandon will be forever in our hearts and minds, and his sweet soul will live on forever in the arms of the Lord. .

In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be made in Brandon’s name to the Oncology department at Children’s Hospital of Detroit, or The Rainbow Connection of Michigan.

Visitation Wednesday 2-9pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores. In state Thursday 10am until 11am, the time of the funeral service at Lake Shore Presbyterian Church, 27801 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores.
