Carl Edward Berger, 93, of Grosse Pointe Woods, Michigan, died peacefully on April 28, 2022. Born in Detroit on March 10, 1929, Carl was a graduate of the Saint John Berchman School and De La Salle High School, and went on to earn a Master’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Detroit Mercy.
Carl was employed for over 40 years by the Detroit Edison Company (now DTE), where he was an accomplished industrial water treatment expert and forged many cherished life-long friendships. Carl was a gentle soul who enjoyed many things, including fishing, golf, softball, pool, and family summer vacations on Manitoulin Island. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores, in 2009, and is survived by his sons Eric (Melanie) and Tom (Jennifer), his daughter, Karen, six grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to all of the caregivers who provided invaluable love and support to Carl over the years.
Visitation, Thursday May 5, 2022, beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 6:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
