Where do I even begin, so many WONDERFUL memories, Cheri was like a second mom to me… When it came to hair color and updo’s she was a freaking LEGEND!!!  From the times we all piled into the white suburban and drove to the hair shows in Grand Rapids to the hair shows we participated in at the Emerald Theater.  I love you so very much and Hairborne is such a huge part of my life.  I am so thankful to have met and worked with you for a majority of my life.  There was nothing we didn’t talk about, she was my mentor and best friend at times!  I LOVE you Cheryl Lee Daniels and I’m very regretful that I hadn’t seen you in several years.  I will carry all of the fond memories with me and please know that you have impacted the lives of everyone who has ever met and loved you…  Until we meet again, I love you!!!

It seems like yesterday when I asked a co-worker where she got her cute cut, great color and style.  She told me that she went to a place called Hairborne and the owner did her hair.  A little nervous about salons, I'd seen plenty of "bad haircuts" and my hair was down my back....what a relief to pull up to Hairborne on Kelly Road and see these words on the front window as you go in..."Long Hair Specialists"...there she was....Cheri Daniels, first chair, big smile and hair down to her waist.  I was sold!  That was 1986....and with Cheri you didn't just get your hair done - you got an education and a friend for life.  She was so very passionate about her craft and she genuinely cared about her clients. Before you know it, my husband Ken was on board (how many stylists can convince your husband to get a perm?:),  then son Kyle and then daughter Amanda.  If you know what Town Hall is, then you are truly a devoted client and friend of Cheri's.  She spent many years working with the other dedicated board members to put together a series of three luncheons with national and local celebrity talent for many years to raise money for Oakland University scholarships.  What fun they were.  Gary, Doug, Dawn, Bri and Zack, Tiffany and you too Kelly - you are all in our thoughts and prayers....our family mourns her loss too - we will never forget her.

I’ve always seen Cheri for my hair since I was 13 years old. 
 
It’s been 40 years now and I’m definitely going to miss my hair mom.  That’s exactly what she was, my hair mom and my friend. 
I’ve learned so much from her and how to take care of my hair and keep it healthy and more. 

I’m grateful for her and I miss her already. 
I remember the old days at Hairborne on Kelly road, I always looked forward to going to that salon and it was always a great time going to get my cut, a lot of good memories and good people.

So many wonderful years of memories with Cheri and her family, Gary, Doug, and Tiffany! 
Cheri was the most loving, caring and kind person. She was always busy working and making sure everyone else was happy and well cared for! 
We will miss her and her beautiful smile!!! 

I met Cheri years ago when our sons became friends at childhood. I then worked for Cheri at Hairborne Salon, as her personal assistant and we grew close. I’m so sad to hear of her passing. She was a great woman with a big heart. My prayers and condolences to the family.

I met Cherry over 30+ years. I was referred to her salon for the spa treatment/massage therapy. I was going to the doctor chiropractor, etc. my back was hurting and a friend of mine referred me to hairborne on Kelly Road in Eastpoint  for a massage I had no knowledge of the therapeutic  Aspect of massage therapy anyhow, I landed up, soaking in the hot tub for about a half hour then I got a massage and the masseuse asked me what my problem was being a entrepreneur and taking on the world I started to share. She turned, told me I was stressed out, which I had no idea I was. And lo and behold it worked the massage therapy stopped some years ago at Hairborne salon and spa, but I still go every week for Massage at treehouse in Farmington but during that time she started doing my hair pretty much cutting it then what time after 30 years not only did she cut in it. She was coloring it and we became friends, amazing woman, strong woman of integrity, beautiful person thank you Sherry for being my friend you definitely  Will be missed until we meet again always love you always David Szpond

This is a great loss for sure.  Hair borne Change of Face, was the first place I worked at out of cos school. I learned so much under Cheri and will be forever grateful she hired me in 1991. Over the years I would bump into her and catch up. She was a talented stylist, cook,  gardener artist ext… my condolences to the family
