Colleen is survived by her cherished son, Trevor DeCouto, and her daughters, Danielle Bartl, along with her son-in-law, Michael Bartl, and Faye Richardson, along with her son-in-law, Austin Richardson; and her beloved grandson, Nash Matthew Richardson, who brought her immense joy as she embraced her role as "Grammy." She is also survived by her eight siblings—Bob, Patty, Linda, Tom, Bill, Kathy, Tony, Jane—many nieces and nephews, and best friends, all of whom she held dear.
Colleen's life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and friends. She treasured the moments spent with them, whether sharing laughter on her patio or enjoying the serene beauty of Lake St. Clair. Her passion for boating and visiting tropical destinations highlighted her adventurous spirit.
All she ever wanted was to be a mother, and her children were her pride and joy. She was a remarkable friend, sister, and aunt, known for her kindness and generosity. Colleen's legacy lives on through the love and memories she created with those around her.
In honor of Colleen's vibrant spirit, we invite everyone to celebrate her life by wearing colorful clothing to the services. We take comfort in knowing that Colleen will be with us every day—in the gentle breeze, the warm sunbeams, and the cheerful birdsong. Her soul is now at peace in heaven, reunited with her loved ones who have passed before her, including her parents and her late partner, Michael Papi.
Visitation will be held at Kaul Funeral Home in St. Clair Shores on Monday, March 17th, from 1 PM to 8 PM. The funeral service will take place on Tuesday, March 18th, with a gathering at 9:30 AM followed by the service at 10 AM at St. Joan of Arc Parish.
