Elvin R. Eakes, 76, passed away at home in Eastpointe on Friday, July 8, 2016. He was born to Elvin G. & Grace M. (Nelson) Eakes on July 25, 1939. Beloved husband of Nancy J. (Webb) Eakes. Dear Dad of Christine and the late Deborah. Also survived by sister, Grace Logan; grandson, Joshua (Natalie) Mand; granddaughter, Sarah Hudson; son-in-law, Roy Hudson and a number of nephews, nieces and many friends. Elvin retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service. Private cremation services have taken place and a memorial service will take place on Sunday, July 24, 2016.
