Eugene Henry Gayheart

Eugene Henry Gayheart, 86, was born April 14, 1939, in Hazard, Kentucky, to parents Burnham and Cornalee Gayheart. Eugene passed away April 10, 2026. Eugene will be remembered as a hard-working, thoughtful, and wise man whose steady presence and quiet strength were deeply valued by those who knew him.

After graduating from high school, Eugene entered the United States Air Force, answering the call to serve his country with dedication and pride.

Following his military service, Eugene built a long and dependable career at Chrysler, where he worked for 30 years as a die setter. His work ethic and commitment reflected the values he carried throughout his life.

Eugene was a loving father to Andrea Gayheart, Rick Baumann, Eugene (Nichol) Gayhart, Debra Huyghe, and Laura Whisnant. He was also a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear brother to Kathy (John) Harper and Evelyn Gayhart, Eugene was preceded in death by his son Dennis Hanvey and his twin brother Frank Gayheart, Bubby/Donald, Butch/Robert and sisters Margaret, Linda, Diane. and Geraldine. Eugene will be missed by all those who knew him well.

Visitation, Tuesday, April 14, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp.

Eugene will be laid to rest at Great Lakes National Cemetery, in Holly, Michigan on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 1:00 pm.
