To know Gail was to know love. Gail loved her family more than anything, and cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her Nana, Bootles, and Gaily. Gail’s doors were always open to family and friends. She spent her life taking care of her children, grandchildren, and her mother until she passed away at 101 years old.
Whether it was watching sporting events, going to the opera / theatre, hunting / fishing, or playing cards, you could take comfort in knowing Gail would be there. In addition to her family, Gail enjoyed playing games such as euchre, pinochle, and Yahtzee. Gail was an avid cook and loved hosting family gatherings. She was a long-standing member of Bethel Lutheran Church and was deeply committed to her faith from a young age. Gail left this world with the Lord by her side.
Gail is survived by her children, Steve Stanton and Laura Stanton; her grandchildren, Keith (Melissa) Stanton, Steven (Samantha) Stanton, Janae (Colleen) Stanton, Eryn Stanton, Delphine Jenkins, Jack Jenkins, Jeff (Maggie) Faulkner, and Amy (Stewart) Schumaker; her great-grandchildren, Alexa Stanton, Luke Faulkner, Nathan Faulkner, Sawyer Stanton, Naomi Stanton, Alastair Stanton, and Grayson Stanton; her daughter in law, Becky Stanton; and her brother, Warren Boothman. Gail will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Stanton (married 49 years); son, Tod Stanton; parents, Clifford and Mary Boothman; and her siblings, Eleanor Thompson, Dolores Campbell, Bette Maxwell, and Dennis Boothman.
Arrangements entrusted to Kaul Funeral Home St. Clair Shores Chapel.
