

Harriet graduated from Denby High School and worked at the J L Hudson Co., becoming its’ first female executive. She married the love of her life Royce V. Bowman Sr. on July 12, 1947 . She lost him on Oct 5, 1989 when he suffered a heart attack while pursuing their joint love of fishing.
As a young woman Harriet taught Sunday school and one of her students became a Bishop in the American Lutheran Church. For over fifty years she was a member of the Roseville Garden Club and served as its president for over ten years. She also served on the City of Roseville Beautification Committee and spent many years planting roses in that city’s boulevard islands. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church for over fifty years.
As her children grew she was an adult leader in the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was active in PTA and served as a room mother for many of her children’s classes.
Although devastated by the death of her husband in 1989, she spent her remaining 23 years actively pursuing her interests in flowers, gardening, shopping, friends and of course, her family.
She is survived by her son Royce Jr. (Ginger) of SCS, daughter Cynthia Zenner (Edward) of Acworth GA,. and grandchildren Brad (Brittany), Matthew (Tania Iqbal) and Rebecca Zenner.
Visitation will take place on Friday, 9-28-12 at the Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m..
The funeral will be held at Bethel Lutheran Church in Saint Clair Shores on Saturday 9-29-12. Viewing will be at 9:30 a.m. till the service begins at 10 a.m.. Rev. Hank Flatt will officiate. Burial will be at Roseland Park Cemetery.
