Herbert Alfred Williams Jr.

WILLIAMS, HERBERT ALFRED, age 82 of St. Clair Shores went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 11th, 2014. Herb is survived by his cherished wife of 62 years, Dorothy Evelyn, daughters, Debra Gehrke-Gordier (Larry) and Denise Harwood (Ken) Loving Grandpa of Todd (Letty) Gehrke, Jeff (Val) Gehrke, Kristin (Jeremy) Bugay, Eric (Jessica) Gehrke, Brandon (Tara) Harwood, Derek (Carolynn) Harwood, Jennifer (Michael) Bell. Herb was also blessed with 12 great-grand children with another one due in March 2015. Also surviving are his siblings Doreen Heacock, Edith Humphrey, Tom (Helen) and his sister in law Gloria Williams. Herb was predeceased by his mother and father, Herbert & Edith (Yates) Williams, in-laws Joseph & Mrytle(Powell) Heacock, son-in-law Michael Gehrke and brother Jack. Herb was a veteran of the Korean War where he served proudly, he retired from Pontiac Truck & Bus and was a long time member of Community Baptist Church in St. Clair Shores. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3-9pm at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores. Mr. Williams will lie in state on Monday from 10am until 11am, the time of the funeral service at Community Baptist Church, 33000 Harper, St. Clair Shores with Pastor Lyle Ihde officiating. Interment will follow at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.
