
Mr. Triplett was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 1, 1943 to Howard Sr. and Sarah (Burns) Triplett. He was raised in St. Clair Shores and attended school there. After graduation, he apprenticed four years as a carpenter and during this time he was called into the ministry. Mr. Triplett led a bi-vocational life as a carpenter and a pastor until suffering a heart attack after 30 years which led to his retirement. He was known as a man of high morals and led an upright life. On June 17, 1967 he was united in marriage to Suzanne Elswick in Mt. Clemens, Michigan and to this union 2 daughters were born. He loved his daughters dearly and was devoted to his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and was fond of hunting and fishing. Mr Triplett was also an avid reader and history buff and had an impressive library of books. He was a minister to the Free Will Baptist faith and was pastor of the Gospel Free Will Baptist Church of Warren, Michigan. Mr. Triplett was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of St. Clair Shores.
Surviving along with his wife are two daughters, Julie (Eddie) Merrell of Sullivan, Missouri and Jennifer (Gregory) Anderson of Livonia, Michigan; one brother, David (Marilyn) Triplett of Gaylord, Michigan; five grandchildren, Alyson Triplett, Nathan Merrell, Sara Merrell, Kyle Anderson and Ella Anderson; other relatives and friends. Along with his parents, Mr. Triplett was preceded in death by a son Leslie Triplett.
