Sherry and Family, I am so very very sorry.  Jim lived a great life ... and you all were such a big part of that :)   

Our hearts break when God takes one we love
So hard not to see them smile
But if we live a life worthy of Him

Jim and I worked together on the mid-shift at the News for a couple of years in IT. We had both served in the Navy and shared many stories of those old days while working.
He talked very fondly of his family and of course his Jeep:-) and talked about his old 60's Charger that he had when he was younger. 
I called and visited Jim many times in the last couple of years and was amazed at his strength during that time, but I wouldn't have exspected anything less from Jim, that was just the way he was. 
All the best to Jim's family during this time...I can still hear his laughter RIP Jim

Jim was a great guy with an unbelievable sense of humor. Over the years I had the good fortune of being a part of his life as we raised our then young families. I have nothing but fond memories of the times we spent laughing and having fun. As our families grew older we grew apart but I will always remember the good times we shared. He will be missed and I offer my condolences to the family.

Prayers to the Family from a former classmate of Jim's and Friend...

Thank you Donna for taking such good care of our brother during the roughest ride of his life.  Also, thank you to Donna's family for all the love and support that they gave my brother when he needed it the most.  Additionally, I would like to thank all of my brother's friends and neighbors that did such wonderful things as mow the lawn, shovel the driveway and sidewalk,  Bring food.... etc., all of the little things that are really big things that made such a difference during their time of need. Jim was so grateful to you all for these kind gestures and was so pleased to tell me about how wonderful you were to him. Indeed he often told me about what great neighbors and friends he had.  To my brother.....  Although we spent many years apart from one another as children- a circumstance not of our own making- You have brought me, us, your many siblings, much joy as you graced our lives with your kind heart, your dry humor and warm laughter. You will be missed more than words can express.  May you rest in peace, my dear brother.  Until we meet again-

I have fond memories of Jim as one of my students at Denby High School.  He was a great kid with a luminous smile, and he was a hard worker.  It was a joy to see him again at a Thespian reunion many years later.  His long battle with cancer was fought with courage, strength and optimism. Thank you, Jim, for touching my life. May you rest in peace.

I knew Jim at Denby, and for a short time worked with him at Manufacturers Bank  (now Comerica) I was so excited to see a fellow classmate. He didn't stay long at the Bank, had other dreams to fill.  My deepest sympathies, to all of his family.

I also worked with Jim and the newspapers as well as being a former classmate of the Denby 1972 grad class and drama club. He was one of the nicest people I've ever met. God bless the family at this time of loss. We will miss you, Jim.

I worked in the IT Dept at the DMP in the Detroit office, and although I didn't know Jim well, he was always kind and pleasant to talk to.  My deepest sympathies and prayers for your loss.

My heart and prayers are with you all.  Jim is now at peace and will always be with you. Donna, you were a great caregiver and now you need to take care of yourself!  I am very blessed to have known him! God bless all of you!

I only knew Jim when we were in high school, We were in R.O.T.C. together but will remember him forever. All who knew him in school will always love him.

Although I only physically enjoyed Jim's presence while at Bluebird Cancer Retreat in 2012, I made a connection to him and to Donna, which has continued to this day.  Jim was a fighter, and Donna you did everything you could for Jim in this hard time.  He is at peace and no longer hurting how.  My prayers are with you and the rest of your family.  HUGS!!!

Cancer brought us together - we were friends who never spoke and never met.  My husband was diagnosed around the same time and Jim's sister introduced us via fb.  I am honored and humbled to know Jim and Donna.  The strongest people I have ever known.  Time to Celebrate!
