Jimmy Gale Underwood

Jimmy Gail Underwood (72) passed away July 29, 2016 after a difficult battle with Cancer. He married his sweetheart the late Phyllis Underwood on January 16, 1965 and was a devoted husband for 48 years until her passing in 2013. He was a loving father to son Michael Underwood and daughter Michelle Underwood (Jeff), and a devoted grandfather to all 7 of his grandchildren, Jeffery (29), Danny (27), Jay (25), Brandon (24), Matthew (19), Amber (15) and Hayley (12). He is survived by his two sisters Wanda Mulligan and Mary Faust as well as several nieces, nephews, Great nieces and Great Nephews. Jim was a lifetime resident of Eastpointe and had an undeniable love for life, the most amazing sense of humor and a contagious smile. He always had a story to tell and had an uncanny way of drawing people in with every word he spoke. Before he passed he left behind a legacy of strength and determination to live one more day for the love of his family, to accept and live life with dignity and grace, and to always show kindness and love to everyone he met. Jim had many hobbies. He loved to bowl, play cards, go to the racetrack, fish, play Wii, and almost anything to spend time with the ones he loved. Jim will be missed by all who loved him. His smile, his warmth, his stories, his humor will remain with us forever.
