Lawrence Joseph Sustrick, age 78, passed away on March 5, 2026. He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine and uncles, George (Fern) Pare and Francis (Helen) Pare. Larry is survived by his aunts, Laura Mae (Alphonse) Van Beylen, Marilyn (Raymond) Van Becelaere and many loving cousins and friends.
In his younger years, Larry enjoyed fencing, gymnastics and skydiving. He was a helicopter pilot in the United States Army during Vietnam. Then he became an air traffic controller in Alaska where he lived for several years. Larry became an airline pilot and retired from American Airlines. He traveled all over the world and enjoyed scuba diving in different places. Larry raced motorcycles, was an avid skier, and loved hunting. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his friends on their motorcycles. Larry was involved in many shooting sports and competed in various competitions.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in his honor.
Visitation, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores.
