Lois Marie Dietz, 95, of Saint Clair Shores, Michigan, was born June 26, 1930, in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, to parents Edward and Helen Shaughnessy. Lois died on April 3, 2026. Lois was adventurous, cherished, kind-hearted, and wise, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Lois was the beloved wife of the late Jack Dietz. She was a loving mother to John Dietz, Kathleen (Timothy) Seagraves, Thomas (Elizabeth) Dietz, Mark Dietz, and Vincent Dietz, and a dear mother-in-law to Karen Dietz. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her son Michael Dietz.
Lois was a cherished grandmother to Jacob (Lisa) Dietz, Kelli Dietz, Kora Dietz, Katie (Christopher) Francis, Heidi (Timothy) Caswell, Joseph (Katilin) Seagraves, Tina (Brad) Cichocki, Kristen Whiting, Vincent (Megan) Dietz, Jamie (Alex) Fennell, Taylor Dietz, Jaclyn Dietz, and Samantha Dietz, and a great-grandmother to 18 great-grandchildren.
Lois found joy in simple pleasures and the routines that made life feel full—she loved going to the casino and playing the nickel slots, liked watching General Hospital, and enjoyed Red Wings hockey. One of her favorite foods was KFC. Most of all, she loved spending time with family, especially with relatives in Wellston, Michigan, her happy place.
Her legacy is found in the family she built and the love she gave so freely. Lois raised 6 wonderful kids, and her steady presence, warmth, and devotion will remain a lasting gift to those who carry her memory forward. Her family will continue to carry on the perspective she lived by that a life filled with love, family and time spent together is a life well lived.
