Mary Kathleen Gifford

Mary Kathleen Gifford, age 88, passed away on November 25, 2024. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to her late parents Bernard and Ruth Manning. Widow of Richard W. Gifford for 50 years at the time of his passing, beloved Mother of 5 is survived by her children Elizabeth (James) Kett, and Richard (Sue) Gifford, and preceded in death by Kathryn Lefevre, Claire Gifford, and Frank Gifford. Grandmother to Daniel (Elizabeth), Sarah, Christopher, Emily, and Eric, and Great-Grandmother to many. Loving sister to Patrica, and preceded in death by her 2 other sisters, Claire, and Gail and many nieces and nephews.

In her younger days, Mary loved to swim and was a swim instructor, teaching many the trade and techniques, including her children. She loved ceramics and creating finely detailed crafts for the home. Mary was very much in to bowling and could lay down the pins with the best of them. She loved to get away camping up north for weeks at a time and furthered this passion with the Girl Scouts and her 3 daughters. While having 5 children meant sewing was a necessity, it was also something she enjoyed making clothes for both herself, her children, and for crafts. She loved to read and loved history. And most of all she loved music and dancing, and is surely cutting a rug with her late husband Dick up in heaven.
