Phillip William Malo, age 94, of St. Clair Shores, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Phillip was born in Detroit, MI on November 7, 1930 to parents Charles and Ruth Malo. Devoted husband to the late Lea Malo until her passing in 2008. Loving father to Gregg (Kathryn) Malo, Jeffrey (Nancy) Malo, and Douglas (Rosemary) Malo. Cherished grandfather to Jeffrey (Jessica) Malo, Katelyn (Jay) Bergeron, Rachel Malo, Scott Malo, and Elizabeth Malo. Great-Grandfather to Lena, Edie, Mara, Macy, and Brooks. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barbara Jennings.
Phillip worked hard for over 40 years as a master tile setter. He dedicated his time to coaching kids sports and working countless hours at the St. Clair Shores ice arena. Phillip loved the game of golf and traveled to play many beautiful courses. Due to his skill and vast knowledge of the game, he mentored numerous people who truly looked up to him. Phillip's love of family was beyond measure. He will be missed but will live on forever in our hearts.
Phillip will lie in state on Friday, July 18, 2025, beginning at 9 am until time of mass at 9:30 am, at St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church, 21100 Madison Street, St. Clair Shores, Michigan 48081.
Phillip will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery, 18201 Clinton River Road, Clinton Township, Michigan 48038.
