So sorry to hear about Ron's passing. He was a great guy .  Our thoughts and prayers to Lois and the Family.  May God welcome him with open arms.

Ron was my brother-in-law for over 45 years & we have some great family memories… 

He loved the Michigan summers & lakes, being out in the sun, on the beach, fishing, fireworks & boat races...we loved seeing him at the annual SCS Memorial Day parades & BBQ’s at his parents’ home, at birthday celebrations and holidays. 

My family has some really great memories of camping with him – he was THE fun uncle! The kids were mesmerized as he put all kinds of things in our campfires ~ the various weird sounds and colors they would make as they burned & melted! 
He could relate to our boys like a big brother, sharing with them the things he loved - fishing, sports cars & model car kits. 
Too many memories to list on this page. And we’ll treasure them always, and remember him forever. 

We all loved you Ron. You were a genuine good guy ~ committed to your family & lived your life well. 
I know we’ll see you again in the next life. 

I can remember vividly as a child, feeling the love for automobiles whenever I was around Uncle Ron. That incredible smell of exhaust from his classic Cougar convertible. The speed of the turbocharged R/T Dodge. He introduced me to the hobby of model car building, and would walk me through how an airbrush worked, the steps of painting each individual part as accurately as possible, assembling the vehicle piece by piece, and the different methods used to create the most lifelike replica for the display shelf. I was amazed at his skill, and can say my cars never came remotely close to his quality! I too was very interested in cars at the time, and these are special memories I appreciate still. 

I am so very sorry for your loss. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew my brother-in-law Ron to be a man of quiet intensity who was passionate about his family, his career as an auto mechanic and, after retirement, his R/C boat racing. Ron's love and conscientiousness to his family were matched, in later years, by the energy and craftsmanship with which he built scale model hydroplane boats. The precision and detail were exquisite.

Dear Lois and Lindsay: please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I know that his quiet dignity will be dearly missed by his family and friends; but that memories of a lifetime  with him will be the greatest comfort.

Uncle Ron occupies a special place in my memory growing up.  Getting together on holidays,  uncle Ron always manned the grill.  With his tank tops and rolled up shorts,  he showed us how to hold bottle rockets and snap poppers in our fingers.  He was the uncle that got fireworks that were illegal (at the time) and if not for him I would have never seen a mortar as a child.  I've modeled a lot of our family traditions after his demonstration.  

Speaking of models,  I have good memories of looking at the models that he and Jim would build.  I occasionally smell things that bring back the memories of glue and model paint,  sprayed through an air brush.  

I can remember taking a ride in his cougar as a child,  thinking "one day I'll have a classic car like this".  Or his red turbo charged  dodge spirit, these are interests I still have and impart them on my children  especially when we visit the dream cruise each year.  

While uncle Ron was not known to be particularly verbose,  he was a big part of the good memories I had growing up.  I'm tearing up writing this thinking how I'd lost track of time,  starting a family and career. I wish I had checked in more throughout the years. 

Thank you uncle Ron for enriching my childhood.  I'm sorry it took this long to stop and think about how much you'll be missed and what an impact you had on me. 

Oh Ron,

We can reminisce about the fun times renovating a bathroom in my first house, then if that wasn’t enough I moved and wanted to learn how to do pavers.  You being the kind soul you are, took the class with me and ended up doing my kitchen back splash in my new home!  My renovation brother in law how I shall miss you

My favorite memory on Ron  was of him being an excellent croquette player…wicked good games against him.  Occasionally, he would let me win. You will be missed.  My condolences to Lois, Lindsay, Tony, Leslie, Rick and Paula. 

My Uncle Ron wasn't just my Uncle, he was my Godfather.

He served as a beacon of guidance and a source of knowledge for things that I really had no grasp on.

I will forever remember during the sign of peace at my grandma's funeral, he looked me in the eyes and said, "You're a heck of a guy, you know that?" And I lost it.

At Jimmy's funeral, I ran into him in the hallway, and he mimed like he was shadowboxing into my chest. I just bear-hugged and he lost it. He said how hard it was, and l looked him in the eye and said, "You're a heck of a guy, you know that?"

I will cherish the conversations we had on the porch of my parent's house or sitting on the bumper of his van at the boat races. The most recent one was this summer when found out I was living in Detroit, and he said, "Your grandma would have a heart attack if she knew you were living there."

I’m very thankful that I went with my dad to see him a couple of weeks ago, and I was able to have one last conversation with him.

The boat races will be different, Memorial Day parades will be different, shopping for a car will be different, and a lot of things are going to be different without you, Uncle Ron.

Say “Hi” to Jimmy and Grandma for me. I love you and will miss you.
