Sheena Kus, age 32, passed away at home surrounded by family on January 28, 2016. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Andy, son Benjamin, parents Edmund and Carol Barbabella, sister Tia (Patrick) Jasniak, parents-in-law Patricia Kus-Curson and Philip (Nancy) Kus, Andy’s siblings Nicole (Brian) Peltier, Christopher (Crystal) Kus, Cynthia (Jeremy) Schares, Jeffrey (Michelle) Curson, and numerous, cherished extended family and friends.
Sheena graduated from U of M in 2007 with a B.S., but later discovered a passion for instructing Pure Barre. She prioritized being active and healthy. Having adventurous or quiet times with Andy & Ben, fun and laughs with family, wild nights out dancing and building an ever evolving music playlist were some of Sheena’s favorite pastimes, all of which she captured in a vast photo collection for all to enjoy. Sheena will be most remembered for her beauty, both inside and out, her witty banter and laughter, her compassion and for making others feel special through her kind gestures.
Over the last two years, since being diagnosed, Sheena’s hope and resolve remained unbroken. Her love for Andy and Ben kept her strong, and now she’ll be their strength in the years to come. Sheena loved her boys more than life itself, and her spirit will live on through Ben.
Visitation will be at Kaul Funeral Home, 28433 Jefferson Avenue, St. Clair Shores, on Tuesday, February 2nd from 3-8pm. Funeral service will be at Our Lady of Hope on Wednesday, February 3rd at 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Ben’s college fund at https://www.gofundme.com/w92b3kxv.
